Ruma Weta - Rooms 16 & 17, Weekly Notices, Term 1, Week 8 (20th - 24th March 2017)

To all those parents able to assist with our class trip to the museum-THANK YOU!! The more parent helpers the better, because then we can have smaller groups for our activities also!
We kick started our day with a lovely St Joseph Liturgy, then some swimming lessons from Henk. Ruma Weta are learning all about water survival skills and what to do when and if in trouble in the water. Today we learnt that if 'caught' in seaweed or such that restricts our feet from kicking-to keep moving and try kicking fast anyway, to use upper body strength to get to safety.

  • We have our St Joseph's Day Liturgy on Monday the 20th March, 10am in the hall - all welcome. This is a day we think about St Joseph, the man he was and the things he did. It is also to thank and celebrate Sister Carina and all she does in our school community.
  • We have our museum trip this week on Wednesday 22nd March 9:30-11:30 (Ruma Weta, rooms 16 & 17 together). Thanks to all who have offered to help supervise. We will be travelling by bus. Thanks to Rotorua Museum for supplying a free bus for us. As part of a science focus we will be looking at the amazing capabilities of Da Vinci and his designs, engineering, art and how this has helped communities and behaviour over time.
  • Life Education is with us this week also! Stay tuned! Berni Volschenk runs an inspiring and energetic workshop for our students. This is always popular with our classes! Room 16 is booked in for the first block on Thursday and Room 17 for the 2nd block on Friday (although we may mix the classes up depending what else Ruma Weta has to finish at the end of the week).
